Philippines Rises to the Top Five in Global BPO Inquiries: A Comprehensive Look into the 2022 Outsourcing Landscape and its Promising Future
Manila-As per the 2022 Outsourcing Performance Report by Outsource Accelerator (OA), a prominent BPO industry marketplace, the Philippines is amongst the countries receiving the most inquiries about outsourcing.
The country landed in the fifth spot for the highest number of inbound inquiries, accounting for 3.81 percent of the total from last year. This statistic underscores the growing global interest in establishing back-office functions in the Philippines.
Countries leading the pack were the United States, capturing a hefty 43.09 percent of inquiries, followed by Australia with 18.11 percent, Canada with 10.78 percent, and the United Kingdom with 9.09 percent.
Remarkably, the Philippines outshone New Zealand, India, and Ireland regarding inbound inquiries. According to OA, these inquiries encompass requests for quotes, downloads of complimentary outsourcing toolkits, and calls inquiring about BPO services in specific countries.
The year 2022 saw inbound inquiries at OA rise 125 percent to 14,663 inquiries, corresponding to an estimated value of USD 857.1 million (PHP 42 billion).
As stated in the report, these inquiries originated from companies across 146 countries looking to outsource 28,570 full-time roles.
"We foresee the robust trend towards remote and outsourcing services extending into 2023, which will be mirrored in web traffic and inquiries," said Derek Gallimore, OA's founder, and CEO.
OA noted that a significant portion of requests for full-time roles came from financial services (11.19 percent), followed closely by digital marketing (11 percent), real estate (10.08 percent), healthcare (7 percent), and software, tech, and information technology (6.96 percent).
Moreover, sectors considering outsourcing roles span construction and renovation, e-commerce, education, advertising and public relations, retail, hardware, tech, and IT, transportation, manufacturing, food and beverage, recruiting and staffing, legal, entertainment, energy, hospitality, telecommunications, travel, media and publishing, non-profit organizations, pharmaceutical, government, public utilities, and game development and support.
